This building has a very interesting shape. It has different dephes too, I really like it. The interior is very well furnished. The different offices are very interesting. In all those employees, where is finally the Mayor? The person we are waiting since the first Bebrickton scenery? Where is his office? I really like the addition of the trumpet, it akes e remeber some German Town Halls. What is it the recording center, city archives? So your next scenery is City Center, I hope to see it!

Hah! You got me :) I've rushed a bit with the interior and forgot finally to make an office for mayor! I shall fix it in the final scenery :)
Bebricton center is the scenery which I had in mind since Leisure Area. I have specially made Wild Forest to make some distance to center of the city. I shall present it soon. It will be the biggest scenery so far :) Yeah, recording center as an archives for recorded phone converstions, I do not really have specific explanation for it :) I just thought it should be here.

Yes, I remember you thought about it some time ago. :)
I think the recording center is in fact a secret spy office, but you don't want to say me the truth... :) A very important thing is missing too: the flags! You should put Lego and Legoland (5 horizontal colored stripes) ones, it would be very good. And now I think a bit more, I think you should make a full 1st floor for the Town Hall to be more massive, to be the central point of Bebricton. You should make also some flats, like in LEGO-6392-1 alternative, because of City center is intended to have a crowded residential density. I have a question: what do you do with your MOCs, do you keep them built or do you dismantle them without any project to rebuild it after?

I thought about making the building bigger like letter U with park inside, but it would be giant and took entire space probably :) Well, you are thinking about something like modulars I believe, when we have nice two story buildings with shops and residential areas. Modulars are great for city center, but they wont fit into Town scenery I think.
The flags are nice idea, I forgot about that... I dismantle most of the MOC's, except some of the vehicles. I would probably rebuild it from the pictures I've took anyway, if I wanted. No need for instructions :) I used to making some building galleries from random alt proposals, but no one seems to be interested in it, so I make them rarely now.

A U shape building is possible with a footprint of 24x48 studs, so it's not so giant. :)
When I talk abour Town, I don't even think about modulars! No, I was thinking about some individual flats, I made an error with the set number, it was intended to be LEGO-6382-1 alternates. :) Some flats like this, or think about town, I don't know how town are organised in your country, but in France, there are 3 majors buildings, The town hall and the schoo represent Republic, since 3rd Republic in 1870, so those are old buildings. There is also the church, that represent religion until 1905 when religion and Republic were dissociated. The post office and shops like Café, butchery, barbershop or bakery are also present. So I think that a city center should be organised like this. Of course, in 60's and 70's, some flats were built because of people left countryside, and a lot of people came in France along with an increasing of borns. All this to say you to build some two stories "blocks" to give a roof to all your citizens. :)

Poland usually has very decorative nice looking city halls. Sometimes they are big, very high, but there is no specific political division.
Well, nevertheless I do not want to represent some real area with bricks, I mostly like to create something what I have in mind along with the usage of old sets. I want to present bricks in old way as it was in 80s and 90s catalogs. The idea of creating some residential houses is not bad at all, I should think about it as I have a lots of public service buildings around the Bebricton already, except there is no normal hospital yet. Well, I have told too much already :) Thanks for your hints, I shall finish it soon as it takes soo much space that I can't keep it for long! |
